My name is Kyra. I'm a 24-year-old self-taught artist and Jersey girl, born and raised in Clinton Township. I discovered my love for houseplants as a way to cultivate gratitude during the COVID pandemic, and they've become my source of peace amidst the chaos and uncertainty. In 2023, my friend opened up her shop, The Stone Gnome in Belvidere, NJ, and I started selling prints of my art and small propagations. The art started to take off, and soon I found my art in 5 shops across NJ and PA. In 2024, I met Cheryl, the sole owner of The Wild Iris, when I became her vendor and eventually her first employee. She became my best friend and a mentor to me. Cheryl was so accepting and loving, she made everyone who came to The Wild Iris feel so seen and heard, a trait that made me feel right at home here. After Cheryl’s tragic passing, opening my shop in the same space that was her safe space felt like a way to honor her and keep our happy place alive for everyone to enjoy. I hope to lead The Props Stop with the same love and care Cheryl always led with. I want The Props Stop to be a place where everyone feels safe to come and enjoy some plant therapy. I'm here to help you learn how to keep happy plants, in hopes you experience the peace they can bring you! We hope our plant and vendor workshops continue to cultivate the community Cheryl and I were building for years to come. We invite you to stop in and experience the joy of houseplants!
